Our History

For over 100 years, Finger Lakes families have trusted Douglas B. Miles to protect what they’ve worked for and to protect what they love.

• 1911: Frank and Lillian Miles open the Miles Agency.
• 1945: Their son, Douglas B. Miles, takes over the business
• 1968: Douglas B. Miles Agency sold to Clair D. Wheeler
• 1973: Douglas B. Miles Agency purchases the Townley Agency
• 1989: Douglas B. Miles Agency sold to Furman Kendall (present-day owner)
• 1998: Douglas B. Miles Agency purchases the Madalyn Pollen Agency
• 2000: Douglas B. Miles Agency purchases the Elliot Agency
• 2012: Douglas B. Miles Agency purchases the F. G. Wright Agency
• 2017: Douglas B. Miles Agency purchases the John Lutomski Agency
